ADVENTURE THERAPY FOUNDATION
PROGRAMS
Our three-fold approach to minimizing the emotional side effects of cancer works by helping those impacted know that they are not alone. We are working to give them tools to help them through their cancer journey, tools to help them break off the fear and restore their emotional identity.
COACHING
With a diagnosis of cancer, a person will feel overwhelmed by emotions and fear, and that is why cancer coaching is such an integral part of the healing process. We have partnered up with The Cancer Journey Institute to provide cancer patients, survivors and their families coaching sessions free of charge. The coaching sessions will be completed before the next step, which is going on a retreat.
RETREATS
We provide families with a retreat adventure all their own. After coaching, these families are invited to enjoy a time of rest, either at our retreat cabin in the mountains of Tennessee or somewhere near their location. We then plan the adventure and send them on their way. The excitement mixed with adrenaline will seal that time into a family’s memory forever.
EVENTS
Adventure Therapy looks at events as something, not just to attend, but to experience. Throughout the year we host a variety of events aimed at creating connection among the cancer community and raising public awareness and education about cancer. From ice skating to kayaking many of our events take place outside, helping take advantage of the healing power found in creation.

Camp Erin, created and funded by The Moyer Foundation, is the largest nationwide network of free bereavement camps for children and teens ages 6- 17 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. Led by grief professionals and trained volunteers, Camp Erin combines traditional, fun camp activities with grief education and emotional support providing a unique opportunity for youth to increase levels of hope, enhance self-esteem, and especially to learn that they are not alone.
Experience Camps are free, one-week camps in Maine, New York and California for boys and girls who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. Through camp activities and facilitated bereavement support, campers are able to open up, share their stories, and be with other kids who “get it”, while having the time of their lives just being kids.
